Job Description

East Delta University (EDU) is seeking dynamic and motivated professionals for the position of Executive: Media and Communications under the Office of the Registrar. This role blends the strategic aspects of media relations and external engagement, focusing on enhancing EDU’s public profile and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders locally and globally. The candidate must have excellent communication skills, media savviness, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Media & Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, or any relevant discipline with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.

  • Minimum GPA of 4.0 out of 5 in SSC and HSC or equivalent.

Additional Requirements:

  • Excellent command of English and Bangla, both verbal and written.

  • Strong public speaking, content writing, and presentation skills.

  • In-depth knowledge of social and digital media.

  • IELTS score of 7 or above is preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal and networking abilities.

  • Strategic thinking and attention to detail.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in media relations, communications, or career placement/corporate engagement.

Job Responsibility

  • Write impactful press releases, media content, newsletters, and promotional material for both print and digital platforms.

  • Develop and implement communication strategies to enhance EDU’s brand and media presence.

  • Manage relationships with local, national, and international media outlets to ensure effective coverage.

  • Coordinate interviews, draft speeches, and arrange public engagements for university officials.

  • Monitor and respond to media inquiries and manage reputational risks effectively.

  • Organize and promote student-centered programs such as job fairs, workshops, internships, and career-building events.

  • Build partnerships with industries and academic institutions to facilitate internships, placements, and student opportunities.

  • Engage with alumni and external stakeholders to enhance university visibility and networking.

  • Research employer needs and assist in planning student development programs aligned with market demands.

  • Manage and contribute to initiatives like EDU Foundry, Alumni Relations, and Academic Support Clinic.

  • Assist the Registrar/Department Head with administrative and strategic tasks.

  • To perform such other duties as may be assigned by the management.
